Finally some relief from pain is coming up. When one has fibromyalgia springtime reminds you of summer, and with summer comes full relief from pain, if you are lucky. One will started to feel a lot better, even though one may be really tired after a very long winter. Until summer comes in full there will have both good and bad days ahead. Let me explain. When someone has fibromyalgia one is extremely sensitive to cold weather. The weather causes your muscles to be on full alert, meaning that it seems as if you are never able to relax. It is as if you were on the run the whole time. You may wake up in the morning feeling as if you never went to sleep, tired beyond belief. When it gets warmer you really can feel the difference in how your body is doing, finally you may wake up in the morning feeling relaxed. In springtime it's perhaps 50% more likely that you may be able to do things you couldn't do the whole wintertime. For the first time you start feeling strong again. A few ideas about what one can do when it's chilly will follow below. When summer comes the good days increase and your strength returns and if you're lucky you will feel your body getting its full strength back, if the weather stays warm the whole summer, that is. The worst thing that may happen is that the weather stays chilly all through the summer; a summer like that may be devastating. Fibromyalgia is that way, weather sensitivity gets you down so fast and that's the hardest part. So I can recommend to those of you who have fibromyalgia, go swimming in warm water as much as possible and take long warm baths. Also take a sauna if possible - it'ss one of the things I really recommend; after a sauna one feels so relaxed. Your muscles will let go of the tension that you may normally feel. Warm baths are definitely the best way to treat fibromyalgia when the weather is chilly or cold. The second thing I recommend is that you go out for walks as soon as your strength comes back; that will help you build your muscles back up and make you stronger. Exercise is good for you even though it's difficult to cope with; walking is therefore a good way to get the exercises that your body needs, Third is that you don't forget to take a few minutes just to meditate and relax every day; one can, by learning how to relax, ease a lot of pain and during the summer it's a perfect time to learn how to meditate and relax the body. So wait for the summer. Enjoy spring, knowing you can do more now than you will have been able to do all winter.
